Arba Murati is a democracy and governance practitioner with over 15 years of international experience advancing democratic institutions, electoral processes, civic participation and inclusive governance across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has worked with international organisations and EU Election Observation Missions and is co-founder of the Experts in Democracy, Governance and Elections (EDGE) Foundation.
Her expertise spans electoral assistance and observation, parliamentary support, political participation, gender and inclusion, media and civil society, monitoring and evaluation, and organisational development. Mrs. Murati has managed complex, multi-country programmes and worked with governments, parliaments, civil society organisations, media and development partners to strengthen institutions and promote inclusive democratic processes.
Mrs. Murati holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master of Science in Law and Gender Studies from Umeå University, a Master of Science in Management from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Stockholm University. Her interdisciplinary background combines public policy, governance, management, gender and democratic development.
