Lead for Cyber Resilience

Giorgi Iashvili is a seasoned cyber resilience professional with over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity leadership, critical infrastructure protection, and governance. He brings technical and policy expertise to ECRD's work on strengthening the resilience of democratic institutions, essential services, and societies against cyber threats, including those posed by state-sponsored actors.
Mr. Iashvili served as Chief Information Security Officer at the National Bank of Georgia and directed IT infrastructure and cybersecurity at the Central Election Commission of Georgia. Together with his experience in energy sector resilience, this brings hands-on leadership across finance, elections, and energy. He has served as Team Leader, Strategic Adviser, and Senior Expert on programmes supported by the EU, USAID, the U.S. Department of State, the FCDO, and UNDP, working with governments, regulators, and critical infrastructure operators across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, the Western Balkans, and Ukraine. His work spans capacity building, national and sectoral cyber resilience assessments, and strategy and regulatory development, including national cyber strategies and legislation adopted in several countries.
A Cardiff University graduate, Mr. Iashvili is an Associate Expert at the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center and Associate Professor of Cyber Security Studies at Business and Technology University. He is also Founder and Senior Consultant at Cyber Trust, a regional cybersecurity consultancy, and works in English, Georgian, Ukrainian, and Russian.
